Yes yes yes we all knew the inevitable was coming but we had no idea how extreme. No one could have prepared me that my torpedoes were in many cases doing 730 points of damage and now doing 40. I also get it that we get to train new skillsą.again. If anyone has noticed these skills do not train fast so weeks and months from now I will finally be back to square one again which was taken away in an instance. Okay itĘs just a game and itĘs only time and money and of course donĘt forget the poor turret people got it before we did I get all that butą..I play Eve to have enjoyment not irritation, I play so that I feel I am getting somewhere. I hate the thought of finally reaching a point and having been set back at the beginning again. The worst part is that I can set aside all of the above but not the trust part. I feel as if CCP will now decide whenever its coffers are low that we need some new skill to train and they donĘt care how many weeks or months we as the paying customers are set back. What if it is the shields next time, or speed or any one of a million other little things that can be taken away just to make us spend more time trying to get that carrot? I have noticed subtle changes too that I donĘt remember anyone mentioning like the power and CPU changes. Many new online games are popping up all over the Internet. The reason we chose Eve was because it was the best online game. In my opinion it just dropped a few notches and I really donĘt see myself continuing on if these extreme changes keep occurring where I am set back to noob levels.
On a positive note I noticed the graphics are much sharper and was amazed by some of the new missions. We now can underline and bold our text so in some respects things just got better.

Edited by: Terrible Tina on 08/07/2005 03:06:47 Wow Astarte Nosferatu adapt or quit why thatĘs brilliant! Did you think that up all on your own? Perhaps you could create a policy for world peace next. YouĘre a real genius and I pray to God you donĘt drive an automobile in my neighborhood because I would be scared you would not know the difference between drive and reverse.
I just donĘt understand why we as Caldari canĘt whine and complain a little bit? We were robbed and you know it and you should have a little sympathy. Try to remember back when you were human once and actually cared about anotherĘs pain. Your cable problem sucks and it isnĘt fair and I hope it works out for you.
Maybe it is a matter of balancing as I admit I donĘt use turrets but please try to acknowledge that this was a huge blow for us and that is all we are trying to convey. Morbeus I feel your pain and empathize with you and thank you for your input. Caldorous, interesting scientific explanation. Minyamar you are exactly right. The Raven is a pile of crap now. I fitted my Scorpion with lasers because they do more damage how pathetic. MortyHax you hit the nail on the head an alt does not count and it would take months to change to another ship and let us think for a moment, change to another ship? This takes me back to my original argument which no one has addressed how could we trust CCP ever again. What they call balancing I call NOOBING.
Uchigatanaą.Well said and an excellent argument. Time is what is sold to us and time is what was taken away disguised as balancing. CCP could have easily raised the firepower of guns and I doubt anyone would have complained save for Astarte Nosferatu but you canĘt please everyone. I stupidly paid ahead and now have to try to convince CCP that I should get a refund so I can go elsewhere. Yep I was a moron for paying months in advance and I deserve much flaming for that one. Evil is not the reason they did it, I think we should call it what it really isąąąąąąą.. greed.

Question: because I am not a turret person I really would appreciate input? Let us suppose that the change in the patch was perfect and now my torpedoes are balanced with your turrets. Does your ammunition cost the same as my torpedoes? I am now using 4 to 6 times more missiles and getting less isk in many cases from battleship kills. Also if I now need help in level 4 agent missions this cuts into my profit as well. So my question is besides all of the previous complaints has anyone considered how much more isk it takes to complete these missions and was that the same when the gunnery skills were updated? I noticed a few of you run both so this should be fairly simple to answer and I thank you in advance for your answers.
On a side note, could someone please tell me again that if I donĘt like the new patch I can just quit. I mean this is such a clever and thought provoking statement I think it needs to be said many more times. I just thank God for people of your intellect because without you who would scan my bananas at the supermarket? Keep up the great arguments at this rate you might just graduate high school by the time you are 40.

Some good points people and I feel the same that CCP did set us back two months but let us face it there is no way in hell we will see any money back from them and even if they did credit my account I would still not be happy for many of the reasons stated in previous posts.
I am doing level 4 missions again with the help of my friends but the isk has been severely reduced and now is divided between multiple players. This however affects us all so it really doesnĘt matter. Mining it seems is the way to go again which bores me to tears but it is once again a necessary evil.
I also concur that drones seem to be the answer in most cases for frigate fights but be careful people as the drones are now easily targeted by NPCs and this also is not a bad thing but it was another surprise.
I have finally found a solution and it is simply I need to take a break from Eve and reconsider my options which will make some of you very happy. I found a game called Guild Wars which is free online to play once you purchase the game. I will continue to train for the next few months as I am paid ahead and when all new missile skills are at level 5 I think I then will be able to make an educated decision as to continue or move on.
Still as I stated previously I would love to hear about a cost analysis between ammunition and missiles. Since according to some the game is completely balanced I again ask is it balanced isk wise. I believe missiles cost more as they use to do more damage but I need your input as I have never used guns. Now that missiles do less damage and the price is the same for them, can someone tell me if the game is still balanced with turret users?
Also I have noticed now I can not always carry enough missiles to finish some missions and I wonder is this true for turret users as well?
Additionally does anyone have any advice for laser turrets? Are they worth investing skill points in or should I train a few turret skills for the frigates?
It is odd because my torpedoes now do more damage on battleships and they are much easier to bring down and yet we get the most isk for them. Can someone explain that part of the balancing too? I would think they should be the hardest ships to bring down but they are now the easiest at least for me.
After reading this thread completely I realize that most of you are quite objective and reasonable in your posts and even the players I disagree with that have tried to give some sort of logical explanation I thank you for. This was a great topic Slartibartfast and if nothing else you got many of us to come forward and voice our opinions.

I am with one of the previous posts that I have not played at all in weeks just trained stupid skills because I stupidly paid ahead and there are no refunds.
At this point I must pose yet another question since no one can answer any of my previous questions I realize they are either too complex or just too lame but here I go one last time.
Where the hell is CCP? Why canĘt they answer petitions except with some automated robot response? What is their major malfunction that they canĘt even take the time to have a representative answer any of our forum questions? Are they going to address the issues or just hide behind the curtain as the wizard did in OZ? Even you ARĘs will have a tough time disputing that their public relations department is not only is inept but is non existent as well? I have seen countless players quit which should make many of the ARĘs happy yet CCP still remains silent and the reason is?
They know they screwed up and there is no excuse for what they did. DonĘt hand me that crap we all knew it was coming because they went far and beyond what they had told us would happen. Balancing is a good thing and balancing is fair but not at the expense of players having to pay for many months to come just to get back to a previous level.
The argument that players could do level 4 missions falls flat on its face for a number of reasons, mostly because the isk to be made in a level 4 is now crap. The promised level 5 missions could have been implemented and the lowering of the isk in the level 4 mission would have been balancing. Players always want to strive for that bigger or harder kill but players do not want to go back to struggling with previous obstacles they have already overcome.
Another thing CCP fails to understand is that when players take the time to voice their opinions they represent many others who feel the same but do not wish to get involved or are too scared because they will get flamed by the ARĘs. Some people are not as eloquent as others and for some English is obviously not their primary language (no offense meant here as I admire those that speak more than one language). My point is that CCP really needs to answer threads like these. They need to for better or worse give us their perspective. We can as players debate back and forth with tank logic and physics but the bottom line is these are just theories and possible interpretations of what CCP meant or means to do.
I donĘt think it should be too much to ask for a pay to play game that the makers should have some responsibility in defending their position. The only reason they have been silent is that they would be ripped to shreds because what they did defies logic and rationality. The only logical conclusion and this has been said before in previous posts is that this was not balancing but a new found way to screw us the paying customers out of more time which in this game equates to real currency.
On a positive note Guild Wars has been a really nice diversion because one you only have to pay a one time fee and two, because I have yet to find any ARĘs there. If CCP had not screwed up I would never have tried the game. Thanks CCP at least you did one thing right.
